Privacy Policy for SpendRep

Introduction and Data Controller

This Privacy Policy is intended to inform users of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information for anyone who chooses to use our app, SpendRep.

SpendRep is a serverless application. We do not operate any server infrastructure to collect, store, or process your transaction data. All your data is stored locally on your device, and any cloud backups are stored directly within your personal Google Drive account. The user remains the sole data controller of their transaction information.

By using our Service, you agree to the use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect and Use

SpendRep is designed to prioritize local storage and user control. Information is collected only to enable the application’s core functions (logging expenses and income) and the optional Google Drive backup service.

A. Personal Data Collected for Google Drive Integration

When you choose to enable the Google Drive Backup feature, you are required to sign in with your Google account. For the purpose of providing this service, the following personal identifiers are accessed and stored:

• Google User ID: Used to authenticate your access to Google Drive.
• Name, Email Address, and Profile Picture: Used to personalize your profile and display who is currently signed in.

Storage Location: This information is stored locally in the app's local storage (e.g., Shared Preferences/Local Storage) on your device. It is never transmitted to, collected by, or stored on SpendRep’s servers.

Use: This personal data is used strictly for authentication and to facilitate the manual or automatic backup/restore process with your personal Google Drive.

B. User-Generated Transaction Data

This data is the core functionality of the app and is essential for its operation.

• Transaction Data: Expense records, income records, transaction amounts, dates, accounts, categories, and descriptive notes.
• User Settings: Currency preference, dark/light mode preference, notification settings, and custom category lists.

Storage Location: This data is stored entirely locally in the app's private database on your device.

Use: This data is used solely within the app to:

• Calculate daily, monthly, and yearly differences.
• Generate graphical reports (pie charts, line charts) for statistical analysis.
• Customize the app interface (e.g., currency display, theme).

C. Cloud Backup (User’s Google Drive)

If you enable the backup feature, a copy of your local transaction data (Section B) is stored in a private, dedicated folder within your personal Google Drive.

• SpendRep does not access, view, or manage this backup data on your Google Drive, other than to write the backup file or read it back during a restore operation, which is triggered by you.
• The data is stored within your private Google Drive and remains under your control, secured by Google’s standard data protection measures.

2. Cookies

This app's core code does not use cookies for tracking or personalization. However, integrated services necessary for app distribution or core functionality (such as Google Play Services for authentication) may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

3. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or transaction information. The third-party services integrated into the app that handle data are:

• Google Sign-In / Google Drive API: Used exclusively for user authentication and the optional backup/restore feature.

4. Data Security and Deletion

We value your trust. Since SpendRep is serverless, your data is primarily secured by the security measures of your mobile device's operating system (Android).

Data Deletion:

To ensure complete deletion of all your data (as detailed in the in-app documentation under "Account and Data Deletion Policy"):

1. You must first use the in-app function to Delete Backup Data and Disconnect from Google Drive (Section 2 in the guide). This removes the cloud backup and clears your Name, Email, and Google ID from the app’s local storage.
2. You must then manually Clear the App's Storage via your device's operating system settings (Settings > Apps > SpendRep > Storage & cache > Clear Data). This action guarantees the final removal of all local data (transaction data, local database, user settings) and ensures the complete disconnection of the app from your Google account on the device.

5. Your Rights

As the data controller of your own transaction information, you have the right to:

• Access, Modify, or Delete your transaction data directly within the app at any time.
• Delete your cloud backup and revoke SpendRep's Google Drive access using the in-app settings.
• Request the deletion of all local data by following the steps outlined in Section 6 above.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal or account-identifying information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information by mistake, please contact us immediately so we can address the situation.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or services. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
